Nimi Places is an desktop organizing tool for Microsoft Windows platform - it can display various selected folders, network shares or even some devices in special boxes on the desktop. Those are either displayed in layered window, or with native DWM window enhanced if compatible system is detected.It's using its own image thumbnailing mechanism and it is based upon Nimi Nici file display component project. It was formerly available in Nimi Visuals as an desktop display package, since about 10.3 version, but was later removed counting from 10.5 version branch.You can read more about here.
